When you put children in daycare, you can end up spending a lot of money. You can spend over 150-200 dollars per week or more, depending on how many kids you have, and a lot of parents cannot afford that on the salary that they have. It's a great place to put your kids when you have to go to work because they will develop their social skills and learn, but it is just too high for people with low-income. If you try to get help with this by asking the Start to help you, you may or may not get it because to them, you can make too much even if you have a lot of bills to pay. In other words, daycare for low-income families is almost impossible for them to afford.
This can make you get stressed and have to ask your family if they can watch your kids until you get off of work. Sometimes this works because grandparents can watch your children for you if they are in good health. But there are lots of times that you won't be able to do that because you may not have them around, are too far away, or can't watch them because they are too old. If you have sisters that are not working or cousins that live near you, you can get them to do it for you so it will make it easier on you. They will not cost you much money or it might not even cost you anything at all, and that will save you a lot of money so you can afford to get more food in your house and be able to pay your bills.
If you can get help from the state it is good because then you can take your kids there and not worry about missing work. Your kids can learn a lot from them to help them get ready for when they go to school. But when you can't get it, you can try to find a babysitter to watch your kids. Make sure they are good people and they are good with kids. It is better if you know them because then you will know that they will take care of your children. There are times where it is hard to find one of them that you can afford. Sometimes you can only afford teenagers, but they really don't know how to watch them right so you don't want to do that.
